Fits our beagle perfectly. The velco strap seems to be strong enough to resist blowing around and the flap/hope at the top works very well with the harness we use. Does not interfere at all with the "business transaction" aspect of why you'd likely be outside walking your dog in rain, etc. so that is a big plus IMO.The coat arrived just in time for walks during the periods of rain accompanying the late stages of a hurricane. My Westie isn’t crazy about coats, which made me grateful for how easy it is to quickly slip this one on and secure it. The size medium fits him perfectly and kept him from getting drenched during his beloved walks. This was a great purchase!My furbabies do wear sweaters but they are not use to the raincoats but that's a learning curve. I did measure before ordering & just a tad bit long on their backs but that's okay. Overall I would recommend.Here's the deal, they are nicely made but the sizing is ridiculous. The size chart is not accurate to the size of the rain slicker. I have now purchased 3 of these for a treeing walker coonhound and a plump beagle. First purchase, referring to the size chart, an x-large and a large. The xl was way too big so gave it to a dog 3 times the size of mine and the large was twice the size of the beagle. I kept the large for my hound and ordered a medium for my beagle. Well, pictured is the medium next to the large. In what world is there that much difference between sizes? It's absurd. My 2 dogs are actually pretty close to each other's size on chest and neck but do wear a a size apart most the time. The length difference is too much. It is not a medium, I don't care what the label claims. After the first order I was pretty pleased with the sizing, but this makes no sense now. Really disappointed. I even had to wait for medium to be in stock. Now my beagle, who had a condition when he was a pup and now has no fur, is left in Oregon with no raincoat. Not good.Would suggest sizing up a small didn’t fit my 16lbs PomeranianIt covers dog well and keeps him dry. He wears it proudly and does look pretty cute. It stays on without constricting.
