This is my 2nd Back on Track blanket for my Pembroke Welsh Corgi. He's a larger corgi in body size. I bought a 20' Dachsund (the large size) for him in the regular blanket, and it fits - barely. It's heavier so I reserve it for cold weather walks and shorter durations of wearing it, but the belly band is let out all the way to fit and it doesn't cover the sides of his haunches completely. Since he's recovering from a shoulder injury, that wasn't a great concern long term.Since I'm graduating him to wearing the blanket overnight, I wanted a lighter-weight blanket as I was afraid with his thick coat and tendency to "run hot" that the regular blanket would be too much in the house all night. So I purchased this blanket for all-night, and eventually summer, wear. I went down 2" in size after reading lots of reviews on sizing and knowing Corgis can be hard to fit in this blanket. The 18" mesh fits him PERFECTLY. Sits high on his shoulders/neckline, and length is perfect, covering his entire haunches as it's designed to do.I'll post an updated review as far as the therapeutic benefits I see - he's middle age at 6, coming off of a shoulder injury, and competing in agility. As a rescue, he also used to be INCREDIBLY obese, so I am hoping as a preventative it will help prolong his career and health. My only nitpick is that when the blanket arrived, it had dog hairs here and there over the entire blanket - it was clearly a returned item, which did not bother me (especially at this crazy low price for a BOT blanket!), but would it be too much to run a lint roller over it before repackaging it?Thumbs up, though, definitely! Very sturdily constructed with quality materials.
